Attorney General Jerry Brown will launch a crackdown this week on bogus charities and questionable commercial fundraisers operating in California
Brown's move, which comes three months after The Bee published an investigative report on questionable charities and professional fundraisers, is part of a nationwide effort called Operation False Charity.
California justice officials plan to unveil eight enforcement actions against charities or commercial fundraisers, according to Scott Gerber, a spokesman for Brown's office.
