Jerry Brown’s Day of Action
On October 9, Californians will come together in support of Jerry Brown for a collaborative statewide volunteering extravaganza. It will be a fantastic opportunity to meet other supporters, recruit volunteers, and spread Jerry's message.
Jerry Brown's Day of Action has five main goals:
1) Reach 100,000 Californians. Through our extensive foot and phone efforts, we think we can make contact with at least that many voters!
2) Register volunteers. Myriad supporters throughout the state want to join our cause but aren't sure where to start; together, we will show them how they can get involved.
3) Get out the vote. It all comes down to the first Tuesday in November - let's sign up as many eligible voters as possible.
4) Generate media buzz. With so many of us coming together, our movement is sure to get the attention of the press, spreading it even farther.
5) Foster the community. We have a fantastic grassroots network; here's the perfect chance for us all to work together towards one common goal (and have fun, too!).
You may be wondering...
How do I sign up to help?
Visit our Facebook event page to RSVP and find a list of opportunities throughout the state and contact information for each event, or click here for an event near you. You can also sign up as a volunteer on our website and create a profile my.jerrybrown.org to search for events by zip code. The California Democratic Party is generously dedicating October 9 to our cause, so visit their website for a list of local events.
How can I tell my friends and spread the message?
Be sure to follow Jerry on Twitter, where we'll be counting down the days until the action begins. On Facebook, RSVP to the event and invite your friends. During the actual day, be sure to set your Facebook status so your friends and family know about the cause you're supporting. We also encourage you to tweet photos and stories from the field using the hashtag #DayofAction.
Is there an incentive to participate?
You mean besides taking part in the historic movement to get California working again? Because we appreciate our support base so much, the volunteer from each county who contacts the most voters will receive an autographed Jerry Brown sticker. Those individuals will also be entered into a drawing to win two tickets to our election night party!
